Refund Policy

1. Overview

At Vaultica, we want you to be completely satisfied with your subscription. This Refund Policy explains when refunds are available, how to request them, and what to expect during the process.

2. 7-Day Free Trial

All paid plans include a 7-day free trial. During the trial period:

  • You will not be charged until the trial period ends
  • You may cancel at any time during the trial from your Billing page at no cost
  • After 7 days, your subscription will automatically renew and your payment method will be charged

The 14-day money-back guarantee (see below) begins from the date of your first payment (day 8), not from the start of the trial. This gives you a total of 21 days risk-free — 7 days of free trial plus 14 days of money-back guarantee after the first charge.

3. 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for your first payment on any paid subscription plan (Plus or Pro). If you are not satisfied with your subscription for any reason, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial payment.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Refund request must be made within 14 calendar days of your first payment
  • Applies only to first-time subscribers on each plan tier
  • Account must not have violated our Terms of Service
  • Storage usage must be within reasonable limits (explained below)

4. Renewal Payments

Renewal payments are non-refundable. If your subscription automatically renews (monthly or annually), that renewal payment is not eligible for a refund. We recommend canceling your subscription before the renewal date if you do not wish to continue.

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Billing page. After cancellation, you will retain access to your paid plan features until the end of your current billing period.

5. Non-Refundable Scenarios

Refunds will not be issued in the following cases:

  • Subscription renewal payments (monthly or annual)
  • Requests made more than 14 days after initial payment
  • Accounts that have exceeded plan storage limits by 200% or more
  • Accounts suspended or terminated for Terms of Service violations
  • Downgrade requests (switching from Pro to Plus, or to Free tier)
  • Partial month refunds for mid-cycle cancellations
  • Change of mind after using the service beyond the 14-day period

6. Cancellation vs. Refund

Cancellation stops future billing but does not provide a refund for the current billing period. When you cancel:

  • You retain access to paid features until the end of your billing period
  • No additional charges will occur after the current period ends
  • Your account will downgrade to the Free tier automatically

Refund returns your payment and immediately terminates your paid subscription (within the 14-day eligibility window).

7. Pro-Rated Refunds

We do not offer pro-rated refunds for partial billing periods. If you cancel mid-cycle, you will not receive a refund for the unused portion of your subscription, but you will continue to have access to your paid plan until the end of the billing period.

8. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund within the 14-day eligibility period, please contact our billing support team:

  • Include: Your account email, subscription plan, and reason for refund (optional)

We aim to process refund requests within 5-7 business days. Approved refunds will be returned to your original payment method.

9. Refund Processing Time

Once a refund is approved:

  • Stripe processes the refund within 5-10 business days
  • Your financial institution may take an additional 3-5 business days to post the credit to your account
  • You will receive an email confirmation once the refund is initiated

Total processing time: 10-15 business days from approval.

10. Disputes and Chargebacks

If you have concerns about a charge, please contact us directly before initiating a chargeback with your bank. Chargebacks may result in immediate account suspension and can take longer to resolve than a direct refund request.

We are committed to working with you to resolve any billing issues fairly and promptly.

11. Free Tier

The Free tier (500MB storage) has no payment requirements and is not subject to this refund policy. You may use the Free tier indefinitely at no cost.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date." Continued use of our service after changes constitute acceptance of the updated policy.

For significant changes, we will notify active subscribers via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
